Frequently asked questions

Which test should I take?

Take the test that your university, employer or visa office asks for. As a guide: IELTS Academic is for university study and professional registration; IELTS General Training is for work, training and migration; PTE Academic is used for study, work and migration visas where it is accepted; and TOEFL iBT is for study at English-speaking universities.

Always check the exact test and score required before you book.

Is myedu.lk an official test centre?

No. myedu.lk is an independent English learning website. We are not affiliated with IELTS, Pearson (PTE) or ETS (TOEFL), and we do not run the real tests. We help you prepare; you book the real test with the official provider.

Are myedu.lk mock exam scores official?

No. Our mock exams are original practice papers, and their scores are estimates that show your progress and what to work on next. They are not official results and cannot be used for university, job or visa applications.

Where should I start?

Check your level first. If you are below the level your target score needs, start with the myedu.lk course for your level. If you are close to it, choose a study plan on your test’s page and mix course lessons with test practice.

Can I get explanations in Sinhala or Tamil?

Grammar explanations in the courses come with Sinhala help, and Tamil explanations are being added as they are reviewed. Test practice is in English, as it is in the real tests.
