Yes — at the moment every course is free, from A1 Beginner to C2 Proficient, including the weekly reviews, the exit tests and the certificates. You can try preview lessons without an account; create a free account to save your progress and take the placement check.

No. The placement check is optional. It asks short grammar, vocabulary and reading questions and suggests a course to start with. You can skip it and choose any course yourself.

myedu.lk is for adults and young adults in Sri Lanka who want to learn English step by step — from complete beginners to people who want more confidence in everyday and work situations.

Yes. myedu.lk works in the web browser on phones, tablets and computers — there is no app to install. Your progress is saved as you go, so you can start on your phone and continue on a computer.

As much as suits you. When you set up your account you choose a daily target of 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes. Short, regular practice usually works better than a long session once a week.

Yes, in Sinhala. The courses include the Sinhala explanations from the English Self-Learning Series books: grammar rules, common mistakes, word meanings, example sentences and study tips. In a lesson, choose Explanations: සිංහල, or set it once in Settings → Learning. The lessons themselves are in English, and there is no Tamil help yet.

At the moment every course is free, so there is nothing to pay. If paid courses are added later, prices will be in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) and you pay once for a course — there is no subscription.

Each course shows its access period on its course page and again before you pay. My learning shows the date your access ends, where it applies.

Yes, for courses that include one. When you finish every required lesson and pass the required tests, you receive a certificate of completion with a unique code. Anyone, such as an employer, can check it on our certificate verification page.

The certificate shows that you completed the course on myedu.lk. It is not an independent certification of your English proficiency.

We use your data to run your account, save your progress and issue certificates. Our privacy policy explains the details. From your profile you can download a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account.
